Hey there!

I’m Anna Chaplinsky, an artist and costume designer based in Berlin. Thanks for stopping by.

My imagination is full of people I’ve never met.

They arrive as fragments — a peculiar gesture, an unlikely silhouette, a hint of personality — and slowly come to life on paper.

My background in costume design for film and theatre has taught me that clothes are never just clothes. A sleeve, a pair of shoes, the way a coat sits on someone’s shoulders — each can tell a story. Fashion gives my characters their style, but it’s who they are that interests me most.

Inspiration usually finds me in the most ordinary things: a stranger’s glance, the way someone moves, an unexpected shape in nature, or a fleeting moment that somehow stays with me.

I collect these little observations and turn them into people of my own.

At heart, my work is about curiosity, character, and a deep affection for people — in all their wonderful peculiarities.

If something here sparks an idea, or you’d simply like to say hello, I’d love to hear from you.
